Mini Kidgineers
A robotics and programming workshop for our foundation students (4-6 years), in order to outline the basic programming concepts, we use little robots which we program by means of several buttons provided either on their casing or onto a remote control device so that they move forward and backwards, they rotate to the left and/or to the right, they make noises and avoid obstacles.
Robotics – Lego education, We Do
The LEGO workshops for children between the age of 6 to 9 years old use educational sets LEGO® WeDo and LEGO® Boost. The club encourages learning through play by building fun models with engines and sensors. They are then connected to the computer to program different behaviour using a visual programming language such as drag and drop.
The children will be motivated to solve scientific challenges from real life through acquiring engineering, science, technology and coding notions, all through practical experiences and investigation.
Robotics – STEM workshops
In the beginning, we will build and program our own computer using the Kano Computer Kit Touch. Using the Lego principle, our students build their own computer using the Kano kit. Such a computer has a Raspberry Pi as a central unit, which allows children not only to carry out programming activities but also to explore numerous educational games.
Later on, we will present and explore the principles of robotics and programming using the little Ozobot Bit robots and the robots from Wonder Workshop Dash and Dot.
Robotics for children
The coding club is dedicated to students who wish to discover the IT world in terms of programming and wish to take Computer Science as an option starting with Year 10. If a student is considering Computer Science as an IGCSE option, they would be strongly advised to participate in this club. Computer Science as an explicit academic subject, can also be taken forward in year 12 and 13 as part of the the International Baccalaureate programme.
Within the Python Programming Course, our students will be able to develop their computational thinking skills and, at the same time, they will learn fundamental programming principles using a modern, powerful, easy-to-learn and apply programming language which is also used by software developers in areas such as Web, games, robotics, machine learning and on platforms like Google, Facebook, etc.

Debate
Decades of academic research have proven that the benefits that accrue as a result of engaging in debate are numerous.
Debate provides experiences that are conducive to life-changing, cognitive, and presentational skills. In addition, through debate debaters acquire unique educational benefits as they learn and polish skills far beyond what can be learnt in any other setting.
At the very least, debate helps learners to see the power of deploying rational, reasoned arguments and compelling evidence in action. It enables them to elucidate their standpoint through utilising rhetorical eloquence. It instills in debaters a great sense of poise and confidence.
It teaches them the skills of researching, organising, and presenting information in a compelling fashion.
Chess
The game of chess helps young people learn to concentrate, think logically, overcome obstacles, spot patterns and categorise information.
It helps with the development of problem-solving skills, planning, patience, focus of thought and self-discipline.
UKMT club

The UKMT organises national and international mathematics competitions and other mathematical enrichment activities for 11-18 year old pupils.
UKMT was established in 1996 and last academic year over 650,000 pupils from 4,500 schools took part in the three individual challenges, the UK’s biggest national Maths competitions.
Each challenge leads into a follow-on Olympiad round and UKMT run mentoring schemes and summer schools for high performing students as well as training a team of six to represent the UK in the International Mathematical Olympiad.
Homework
The homework club is dedicated to students starting with 6 years old. The aim is to ensure students have the opportunity to complete their homework in school and possibly be supported by a member of staff.
However, we strongly recommend that parents of students in the lower Primary School are also getting involved in certain activities (for example; reading time) with their children as recommended by the class teacher.
Students of all ages may select 2 – 4 homework club activities but should also ensure that they maintain a variety in their club selection.
Organised playtime
This is an activity dedicated to children 4 – 6 years old. Based on the number of children we will put together a range of activities and games meant to help children end the school day in a very enjoyable way with their peers.
The activities will generally take place outside, but we can also use classrooms in case of bad weather. The students will be supervised the whole time.
