Deputy Head of Secondary (Academic)
Raluca
BEMBE
Raluca is currently our Deputy Head of Secondary (Academic) and one of our TOK Coordinators within the IB Diploma Programme. In this dual role, she oversees the academic side of the Secondary School while also playing an important part in the delivery and development of the IB Diploma Programme.
Having been with us since the school first opened its doors, Raluca has played an important role in the development of our school and has become one of our most experienced and reliable members of staff.
She graduated in Romanian Language and Literature and English Language and Literature from the West University of Timișoara and holds a Doctorate in Philology from the same university. Alongside her role at our school, Raluca is also an Assistant Professor at a university in the region, maintaining an active connection with higher education and academia. Her academic interests include multiculturalism and intercultural education. During her doctoral studies, she was awarded a scholarship at the University of Vienna and participated in several international summer schools with a multicultural focus.
Throughout her career, Raluca has worked with students across a wide range of ages and educational settings, from early years to secondary and higher education. Her experience includes teaching English to young learners, Romanian Language and Literature at secondary level, and Romanian as a foreign language at university level.
Passionate about theatre and culture, Raluca enjoys introducing students to local cultural events and encouraging them to engage with the wider cultural life of the community. Her professionalism, dedication and reliability have made her a highly valued member of our team, and we are delighted to have her as part of our school community.
